The AAA season got underway Friday night in Indianapolis, Indiana as the Indians hosted the Omaha StormChasers. The Indians got things going early they would put up 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st. Endy Rodriguez would send the first pitch he saw the distance to make it 2-0. Malcom Nunez followed up with a RBI single and Tucipita Marcano brought home two off a right field double. Luis Ortiz lasted 3.2 innings striking out 4, walking 3, and only giving up 1 hit. John O’Reilly closed out the 4th inning. Omaha would finally begin the momentum swing after Maikel Garcia scored a run on a fielders choice. The 7th inning would continue the drive of the StormChasers with 2 more runs coming in off the bats of Samar Taylor and Garcia once more. Garcia would get another RBI after drawing a walk in the 8th to make it a one score game. Malcom Nunez off the Indians extended Indianapolis lead with a single. Yerry DeLos Santos came on to attempt to close out the 9th but the StormChasers were up to the task. Freddy Fremin scored a run off a fielders choice followed by Tucker Bradley walking in a run. Samad Taylor would cap off his great night walking it off for Omaha with a outfield single to complete the comeback. The two teams will face off again tomorrow and Sunday for the rest of the series.
